Most bathrobes in India are afterthoughts, thin terry, awkward proportions, the kind of robe that lives folded in a cupboard and is rarely reached for. The Antimony bathrobe was drawn differently. It is the robe we wished existed when we travelled, the one we asked the housekeeping team for the brand of, the one we wanted to take home from the hotel. Cut in premium cotton waffle to a hotel and spa standard, finished with a quiet shawl collar, piped seams, and a long tonal belt that ties softly at the waist. Made for the slow ritual of being at home well.

The Ritual

The first ten minutes after a bath are the most luxurious part of the day. The robe you reach for then sets the tone of everything that follows. The Antimony bathrobe is woven from a premium cotton waffle that absorbs water without weight, dries quickly, and breathes through Indian summers and cool monsoon mornings alike. Pair it with a cup of slow coffee, the curtains half-open, a candle on the basin. The smaller rituals are where the day begins.

The Cotton

Waffle weave is the quiet secret of every five-star spa, lighter than terry, more absorbent than flat cotton, and built to soften with every wash. We chose a hotel-grade waffle in a 100% cotton yarn that holds its shape, breathes well, and grows softer over the years rather than wearing thin. The piping is a tonal charcoal that traces the shawl collar, the cuffs, and the pockets, the only visible detail on an otherwise quiet ivory canvas.

We studied the bathrobes folded in the suites of the Aman, the Rosewood, the Six Senses, and the One&Only. We measured the depth of their collars, the length of their belts, the width of their pockets. The Antimony bathrobe was drawn from that quiet, considered research, and then tailored to fit a woman's frame more precisely. Generous through the shoulder, gentle at the waist when belted, mid-calf in length, the silhouette of a luxury hotel robe with a touch of editorial restraint.

Styling Notes

Worn the way it was drawn.

Belt loose for the first hour of the morning. Belt firmer for breakfast on the balcony. Layer over our night suits when the temperature drops or wear it as a beach cover at a resort. The shawl collar sits well with damp hair pulled back, the pockets are deep enough for a phone, a hand cream, a key, the cuffs roll once for cooking, twice for unpacking a suitcase. Care Guide

Cared for, it grows softer.

Machine wash cold with like colours. Avoid bleach, the piping holds best when the wash is gentle. Tumble dry low or line dry in shade. A warm iron if you prefer a crisper shawl collar. The first wash blooms the cotton, expect a small amount of natural lint for the first two cycles, then a robe that stays soft for years.
