Style Guide
Resort wear in India, considered properly.
Resort dressing is a technical category in India. Heat, humidity, sea air, packed suitcases, late dinners after sun on skin. Most resort edits at Indian luxury houses are a thin afterthought to the main collection. The Antimony resort wear edit is built differently — around four fibres, three silhouettes, and one assumption: that you will wear these pieces for a decade of holidays, not one.
01 — Fabric, first
Belgian linen, washed silk, long-staple cotton.
The single most important decision in a resort wardrobe is fibre. Synthetics in 35°C humidity don’t breathe, and the body responds. We work with three natural fibres for resort: Belgian linen (wet-spun, pre-washed, drapes from day one), washed silk crepe (around 30 momme, cool against skin, never clings), and 60-count long-staple Indian cotton (poplin for shirts, fine twill for short suits).
Each Antimony resort piece carries the mill name on its product page. There is no acrylic, no virgin polyester, no synthetic blend hidden behind a poetic fabric description.
02 — Silhouette
Loose, but considered.
Resort silhouettes lean loose by definition, but loose is not formless. The three cuts we keep returning to: the boxy linen short-shirt (rolled cuffs, air at the shoulder), the high-waisted column trouser in cotton (clean vertical line, hidden waistband, takes a slim belt), and the bias-cut washed-silk maxi (skims, never clings).
What we avoid at the resort: tight ribbing, hidden mesh lining, anything that requires shapewear, anything cropped to the navel. The hot-weather wardrobe earns the word luxury by leaving the body alone.
03 — Day to evening
One piece, two registers.
A correctly designed resort dress should read morning AND evening with only an accessory change. The bias-cut maxi from the Antimony resort edit goes from beach club at noon with flat sandals and a wide hat, to a dinner at seven with low heels and a single piece of sculptural jewellery. The cotton short-suit reads casual with a tee, but pair it with a slip dress underneath as a layered set and it sits in a different register entirely.
The double-duty silhouette is what makes a resort wardrobe small. Most travellers overpack because each piece does one job. Antimony resort pieces are patterned to do at least three.
04 — The carry-on
Six pieces, one suitcase.
The travel formula we recommend for a seven-day resort trip: one bias-cut silk maxi (for the dinners), one linen short-suit (for the days), one cotton button-down (worn open over the slip), one wide-leg cotton trouser (for the flight and the cooler evenings), one slip dress (under the suit, alone in the morning), and one lightweight scarf wrap. Six pieces. Tonal palette. Rolled, not folded.
05 — Care for resort fabric
After the holiday.
Linen and cotton from the Antimony resort edit wash cool, line-dry away from direct sun, press damp from the inside. Washed silk is the exception — it dry-cleans or hand-washes with a pH-neutral wash, and stores on a padded hanger. Every Antimony resort piece is backed by a lifetime construction-repair guarantee. Hem lifts, button loss, seam give: all mended at the New Delhi atelier without charge. The point of a luxury resort wardrobe is that it travels with you across a decade.

On resort wear, in brief.
- What is resort wear?
- Resort wear is a clothing category cut for warm-climate holidays and coastal destinations — fluid silhouettes, lightweight natural fibres (linen, cotton, silk crepe) and pieces sized for both daytime and dinner. The category sits between everyday casual and occasion wear.
- What fabrics are best for resort wear in hot climates?
- Long-staple cotton, Belgian or Italian linen, and heavy washed silk crepe all outperform synthetics in humid climates. Cotton breathes; linen wicks; silk crepe drapes without clinging. ANTIMONY’s resort edit is built almost entirely from these three fibres for that reason.
- Where can I buy luxury resort wear for women in India?
- ANTIMONY (antimonyindia.com) makes a small, considered resort edit — weighted silk slips, Belgian linen co-ords, long-staple cotton shirting and shorts. Every piece is made to order in a five-person New Delhi atelier and ships insured across India and to 30+ countries.
- How do you pack resort wear without it creasing?
- Roll, do not fold. Pack heavier silk and linen pieces at the base of the suitcase, lighter cotton on top. Hang on arrival in a steamed bathroom for ten minutes — most natural-fibre resort pieces will drop their travel creases without ironing. Press damp with a cloth if needed.
- What should I wear for a beach destination wedding?
- A bias-cut silk slip dress or a tonal linen co-ord reads correctly in coastal light. Avoid heavy embellishment in humidity; choose fabrics that move. ANTIMONY’s resort and party-wear edits are sized to be worn together — the slip under a sheer overlay, the co-ord with sculptural earrings for evening.
